February Mom of the Month

Meet Jacqueline Lamontagne, our mom of the month for February 2026 at FIT4MOM Honolulu.

✨AboutYou (The Woman Behind the Title “Mom”)

1. Where did your story begin? Where are you originally from, and what parts of that place still shape who you are today?

I grew up in a small town in Western Massachusetts. Aside from being a lifelong Patriots fan (lol), I think it instilled a deep love for enjoying simple things, even though I’m truly a city girl. It also taught me to be very resourceful.

2. How do you describe yourself beyond motherhood? Tell us about your work, passions, or the season of life you’re currently in — past or present.

Beyond motherhood I enjoy baking, crafting (embroidery), reading, and gardening (well, weeding out the plants that can’t seem to survive). I also work at a non-profit called Youth Impact Program that runs summer programs for middle school kids.

3. What are three things people might not know about you? Fun facts, hidden talents, or little joys that make you you.

I spent close to 30 years of my life dancing and keep a pair of tap and ballet shoes in my closet still!

My favorite color is purple.

I’m your girl for useless facts (and by proxy, trivia night).

💛 Motherhood & Identity

4. How has becoming a mother changed you — in ways you didn’t expect? Emotionally, mentally, or physically.

Obviously physically

I think it has taught me to embrace change more. Kids are ever changing, for good and for bad, and I feel like the more I accept that the things that I hate (and love) will change, the easier I find navigating this tumultuous part of life.

5. What is a moment in motherhood that made you pause and think, “I’m really doing this”? A proud, meaningful, or growth-filled moment.

I think the first time someone asked me parenting advice. I have frequently been a mentor to others in a work environment but when someone entrusted that responsibility to me in motherhood I felt like “okay I’m doing this”.

🌿 Finding FIT4MOM Honolulu

6. What led you to join FIT4MOM Honolulu, and when did you start? What were you looking for at the time — fitness, connection, support, or something else?

I joined in September and honestly, I was just looking to fill my schedule so my child wouldn’t tear apart my house. But it was a good fit for us both :)

7. What does your FIT4MOM routine look like now? Favorite class, location, or way you like to show up for yourself.

Being someone who lives Windward side, I am only able to come once a week and Magic Island is a great fit (and has easy parking for my mom-mobile).

8. Who’s usually by your side at class? Tell us about your workout buddy (or buddies!) and their age(s).

My 18 month old, Zeke

🤍 Community, Connection & Belonging

9. What has surprised you most about being part of a mom community like FIT4MOM? Something you didn’t realize you needed until you found it.

The extras… especially Lit4Mom. This definitely reignited my excitement for reading!

10. When you hear the phrase “it takes a village,” what does that mean to you now? How has being part of a supportive mom community impacted your motherhood journey?

Having no family within 5000 miles (!) the need for a village is real! While it has been great to have people show up for me (postpartum meal trains, baby sitting, 2am mom texts), I think it also reminds me to slow down and “be a villager” and show up for the people around me too.

11. How has FIT4MOM Honolulu supported you beyond the workout?Physically, emotionally, socially, or during a hard season.

I started as I was at the peak of my PPD, and it really just helped me continue to show up for myself. It’s enjoyable and meets you where you’re at without pressure!

12. What would you say to a mom who’s on the fence about joining FIT4MOM? Especially one who’s feeling nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure she belongs.

As someone who takes a while to warm up to new people (especially in a group setting), I would still encourage it! Worst case scenario you get in a work out, best case scenario, you have a whole new village!

🌺 Just for Fun (Because Joy Matters Too)

13. What’s your go-to beverage these days? Coffee order, matcha, mocktail, or hydration of choice.

Coffee. Quad espresso over ice.

14. Favorite comfort food or meal you’ll never get tired of?

Mac and Cheese, or a spicy Ahi poke bowl from my favorite place (but I’m gatekeeping it )

15. You’re gifted four hours of completely child-free time — what are you doing first?

Pedicure!

16. Dream child-free getaway destination (realistic or wildly aspirational)?

Amsterdam! But for boring reasons, they have the most museums per square mile and I can’t imagine taking a kid with me on that adventure!
